Parkdale Primary School recently underwent extensive renovations to their school sports oval. The oval was in need of improvements due to a number of ongoing issues, such as erosion, and flooding of the oval and neighbouring streets. The challenge was to enable Parkdale Primary School to provide a safe, clean and usable space for their students.
Tuff Turf, one of Melbourne’s leaders in synthetic and artificial grass, designed, supplied and constructed an alternative sports oval, including:
- Soccer/AFL area
- 4-lane running track
- Long jump pit
- Cricket wicket and 2 training nets
The artificial turf design included a vertically draining synthetic playing surface, stabilised by the installation of a composite geo-membrane.
This Tuff Turf design allows for the dissipation of water beneath the synthetic lawn system, and eliminates soil erosion, landslides and mass water run-off. Parkdale Primary School’s multi-sport oval now consists of a long-lasting, advanced synthetic lawn surface.
