Tuff Groups latest tennis court installation has just been completed in Brighton, with Australia’s best synthetic turf installer Matt Wood at the helm.
This was a very typical project for Tuff Group, using a wide range of skills, tools and experience to ensure a final result that will perform at the highest standards and look good for years to come.
The traditional green synthetic turf and white line marking ensures that the surrounding area received an uplift. Within the tennis court we also incorporated a badminton court with blue line marking and supplied new badminton net post system, including sleeves, posts and net. This can be seen c early in the photographs and demonstrates the multi-use aspect of synthetic surfaces really well.
The court is set our over 435sqm, 29 metres long and 15 metres wide. In projects such as this, Tuff Group often installs the sub base on which the synthetic surface is laid. We can do this on surfaces such as a tennis court, right up to world standard football (soccer) pitches. These have a tolerance of 5mm, meaning that we are able to keep the surface level to within 5mm across the entire area of a football pitch! This is not easy to achieve and takes a lot of effort and experience, however the end result is worth it.
In this particular case, the Court PRO Signature synthetic turf was laid over an existing asphalt based, with a 12.5mm pile height. With ongoing maintenance, this surface will perform well for many years. It should provide hours and hours of enjoyment and – who knows – perhaps Australia’s next World Number 1 tennis player!
