Overnewton Anglican Community College
A premier school in Melbourne’s North-West, Overnewton Anglican Community College is ranked in the top 25% of educational providers within the state of Victoria. A large focus of the school’s curriculum is sport and when it came to building a new Multi-sport facility for their students they chose Tuff Turf.
Tuff Turf was contracted by the school to undertake the complex task of undertaking the construction of a new multi-sport court area replacing an existing asphalt court and extending the court to provide more facilities for the student.
The construction of the multi-sport area involved the removal of the existing asphalt court area, major bulk earthworks and impact rolling of the sub-grade. Impact rolling was the most cost effective way of treating the some 1.8m depth of un-controlled fill on the site, which provided a stable platform for the construction of the new facility. Further assurance was given to the sub- base by the installation of the TriAx® Geogrid within the base layers, providing confidence to the client in the construction methodology.
The surface of choice for the school was Tuff Turf’s 19mm MultiCOURT Signature which provides a superior playing surface for the students to enjoy for many years to come.
The project involved the design and construction of the multi-sport facility including, sub-base and base design, drainage, installation of the synthetic surface and the supply and installation of sporting accessories.
