When it comes to starting from scratch, Rydalmere is an excellent example of how it should be done. While this site is in its very first stages of change, it will soon become a fantastic facility for the Rydalmere community in the western suburbs of Sydney.
The facility at Rydalmere is an excellent example of an under-utilised and poorly maintained community facility. It doesn’t make the best use of the land in an environment that desperately needs better facilities that can be used year-round by athletes all of all levels right up to elite standard.
One of numerous current projects in Sydney being undertaken by Tuff Group, the Rydalmere project is literally built on an old dump site. Our team of experts will ensure that all of the appropriate processes and safety systems are in place to ensure that the job is completed satisfactorily.
Tuesday 29 October was Day 1 of the project. The natural grass surface is very patchy and un-useable. It will be pulled up and the layer of soil underneath separately removed before ground works can start.
All of the infrastructure at the ground has been removed including light poles and fences, with the site now surrounded by temporary fence. Once prepared, a new football field with accompanying training area will be built. At the northern end of the ground, a three meter retaining wall will be built to allow for extra space for the field to be put in place.
On completion the new field will complement the surrounding rugby ground, bowling club and social facilities to give the region an international class FIFA certified field that can be used for games of all levels.
